Yes, it is critical for maximum crop yield. We can assist growers in pursuing financing from local banks or other lending institutions to include USDA. The providing of a guaranteed 5-year contract to grow your crop is a great financial incentive for lending institutions to positively consider financial assistance.
- Will growers be allowed to grow if they don’t have irrigation?
Yes, but they must be prepared to accept responsibility for crop failure or reduced productivity, which both weigh heavily on both yield and quality which is what your guaranteed contract is based on'
- Will first level processing be an option for growers who want to do so, and have the financial means to establish a mini processing on-farm facility?
Yes, this is a possibility, but proven ability to provide a quality product is essential. We can provide advice in your development of a first level processing facility.
- What is the minimum and maximum acreage required for grower participation in this program?
A minimum of 5 acres is required, however, there is no limit on the maximum acreage you can grow if you have the financial resources to do so. We do suggest that you start with less than the minimum and work up to your maximum, based on your capital resources, educational training, and gained experience in the growing of hemp.
- At what stage will a grower be allowed to move up from flower (CBD/CBG oil) production to fiber or seed production?
A grower can start at either level based on experience and training as well as marketability of an excellent product. Currently, there is a higher market potential in Flower (CBD/CBG), then Fiber and then seed production. This ratio may change based on future research and development in all aspects of marketing and usage.
- How will plants and or clones be grown and provided to growers in a timely manner?
JV AgriIndustries will be responsible for providing seed, clones or plants to contracted growers and any others who are growing without contracted assistance. We will sell seed, clones or plants to anyone interested in purchasing such hemp products at market value. However, only contracted growers will have a guaranteed market. Everyone else grow at their own risk. We will buy or assist in making arrangements for such growers to market their crops based on quality of harvested products.
- How much labor will I need to employ for the production of five (5) or more acres of land?
This depends on the amount of personal or family labor you will be able to provide yourself. A grower in good physical shape can handle most things needed to be done on the farm to grow 5 acres. However, for planting and harvesting, he will need extra hands to assist in these two labor intense operations. From an equipment perspective, he will need a tractor, tillage equipment, irrigation and some type of harvesting equipment.
